"L11-1970 Horizon noir" (Black Horizon)

Around 1950, Anna-Eva Bergman began to work with leaf metals (metal foils), while at the same time she turned definitively to the "art of abstraction". Almost inevitably, her numerous travels in the 1960s led her to the quiet, vast landscapes of Norway and Spain with their endless horizons. In 1970, Bergman finally created the lithograph offered here in the carefully layered colors black, ochre, grey and silver with the title "Horizon noir". Bergman's last picture before her death in 1987 was also a horizon.

One of approx. 2,000 copies with the printed signature, as published in 1970 for the book edition. In addition, 75 copies were printed at that time on Arches wove paper with wide margins, signed and numbered in pencil by the artist.
