| | Details:"Les fusillés" (The Shot Men) - 1946 Henri Laurens is one of the artists who had to live through two wars. According to the catalogue raisonné, the horror of the Second World War and in particular the death of his friend Max Jacob (French poet and painter) in the French concentration camp Drancy were the impetus for this etching. It depicts the moment of falling, the four stages of an execution. What is special about this print is that the well-known Parisian gallery Louise Leiris only published a total edition of 15 copies and a few proofs in 1946. The work is therefore extremely rare.
